The Vibration of Creation

Our Bodies and Spiritual Practices

By: - Jan 13, 2025

Have you ever noticed how certain places or people give you an instant feeling of peace and positive energy, while others leave you feeling drained and uncomfortable? This palpable difference in the atmosphere is often described as a difference in “vibration” or “energy,” or to use the word I speak of in my teaching – qi.  While seemingly abstract, the concept of vibration is deeply rooted in scientific principles and forms the basis of many spiritual practices.

At the most fundamental level, everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. From the smallest subatomic particles to the largest celestial bodies, everything is in a constant state of motion, creating a unique vibrational signature. This includes our physical bodies, thoughts, emotions, and even the seemingly empty space around us.

If you think you are able to stand still, think again.  The earth is spinning at around 1,000 miles per hour at the equator; the earth is revolving around the sun at around 67,000 miles per hour; the solar system revolves around the Milky Way at around 514,000 miles per hour; the Milky Way is moving through space at around 1.3 million miles per hour.  We are never still, at least on the outside.

The Human Body as a Vibrational Being

Our bodies are complex systems of energy (qi), with each organ, cell, and even DNA molecule vibrating at its own specific frequency. When these frequencies are in harmony, we experience good health and well-being. However, when our energy becomes blocked or out of balance, it can manifest as physical or emotional discomfort.

Spiritual practices like meditation and Taiji can help to harmonize our internal vibrations, promoting a sense of balance and inner stillness. These practices often involve deep breathing, visualization, and movement, which can help to release stagnant Qi and promote the flow of vital life force throughout the body.

The Interconnectedness of All Things

The concept of vibration also highlights the interconnectedness of all things. Just as a vibrating tuning fork can cause a nearby fork to resonate at the same frequency, our own vibrations can influence the energy of our surroundings and the people we interact with. This is why it’s important to cultivate positive thoughts and emotions, as they can radiate outwards and create a ripple effect of harmony.  As within, so without.

Many spiritual traditions emphasize the power of intention and visualization in manifesting our desires. By focusing our thoughts and emotions on a specific outcome, we can raise our vibration to match that of our desired reality, attracting positive experiences and opportunities into our lives.  As one of my Zen Masters said, “What we think, we become.”

Spiritual Practices and Vibrational Alignment

Spiritual practices serve as tools to help us become more attuned to our own vibrational state and align ourselves with the natural harmony of the universe. Here are a few examples of how different practices can influence our vibrations:

  • Meditation: Calms the mind, reduces stress, and promotes a sense of inner peace, raising our vibration to a higher frequency and bringing us into the present moment.
  • Taiji: Combines physical postures and movements, breathwork, and meditation to harmonize the body’s energy centers, cultivating inner stillness, and promote balance.
  • Spending time in nature: Immersing ourselves in the natural world can help to ground and recharge our energy.

Cultivating Positive Vibrations

Incorporating these practices into our daily lives can help us to cultivate positive vibrations, leading to greater health and present moment awareness.  By becoming more aware of our own qi and the qi of our surroundings, we can make conscious choices to support our well-being and create a more harmonious existence.

We are all vibrational beings, interconnected through the universal qi field, The Great Dao. By raising our own vibration, we not only improve our own lives but also contribute to the collective consciousness, creating a more positive and harmonious world for all.

It evokes a sense of wonder and awe at the microscopic forces that shape our world. which reminds us of the interconnectedness of all things and all life – in other words, the divine.
