Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival – an intimate three day celebration of music, comedy, art and community - returns to MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA June 24 – 26. Envisioned by Wilco and presented in collaboration with MASS MoCA, America’s largest center for contemporary art, this year’s festival boasts two headline concerts by Wilco, a comedy cabaret hosted by John Hodgman, the new Solid Ground tent site for nearby camping, a Euclid Records pop-up store, a wide array of all-ages programming and much more. Tickets are on sale 11am EST this Friday, Jan. 21 through the festival’s official website SolidSoundFestival.com through the MASS MoCA box office and through massmoca.org

Music will again take center (and side) stage at this year’s Solid Sound Festival. Hosts Wilco headline two performances on the outdoor, open-lawn stage, created specifically for last year’s inaugural event. A wide array of musical performers hand-picked by Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche, Nels Cline, Pat Sansone and Mike Jorgensen will be programmed on the festival’s four stages and announced shortly.

Comedian John Hodgman hosts and headlines this year’s Solid Sound Comedy Cabaret on MASS MoCA’s Hunter Theater stage. Hodgman is the author of two books: Areas of My Expertise and More Information Than You Require, appears regularly on The Daily Show with John Stewart and personified “PC” on Apple’s  “Get A Mac” advertising campaign. The full Comedy Cabaret lineup will be announced shortly.

An exciting addition to this year’s festival experience is Solid Ground, a nearby tent site offered by MASS MoCA in partnership with the City of North Adams. This basic, open field site offers festival attendees a camping option within walking distance to festival grounds and downtown shops, restaurants and bars, and is located approximately .7 miles from MASS MoCA. Space is limited and reservations are required. See massmoca.org for complete details.

Solid Sound is pleased to welcome Euclid Records, the St. Louis, MO based independent vinyl and CD retailer (the meeting place and former employer of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and Wilco’s longtime manager, Tony Margherita) to this year’s festival, to host an on-site pop-up store. Additional retail partners and vendors will be announced soon.

MASS MoCA is a renovated 19th century textile mill located in the scenic Berkshire Mountains. Festival attendees have full access to the entire, sprawling MASS MoCA campus, which incorporates 150,000 square feet of galleries and includes Kidspace, a museum within the museum, designed especially for children and families. This year Kidspace will feature expanded hours throughout the Solid Sound Festival weekend.
