Champian Fulton at Eagle Hill Cultural Center's Valentine Special
The Eagle Hill Cultural Center in Hardwick has announced they will host two special performances, matinee and evening, Valentines day by rising jazz sensation, Champian Fulton. Recently awarded the American Harvest Music Society for 2009 Best Jazz Vocalist & Pianist. Fulton has been getting rave ("best new singer I have heard this year (2007)" - Francis Davis,) reviews from the Village Voice, the New Yorker and jazz publications.

The daughter of jazz trumpeter Stephen Fulton, Champian Fulton started singing and playing piano publicly at age 12. She has continued to evolve and mature into a seasoned artist, now in her mid-20s. A regular at Birdland where she often sits in with the likes of Jimmy Cobb, Frank Wess, Lou Donaldson and others of note. When headlining as the Champian Fulton Trio she performs with bassist, Neal Miner and drummer, Fukushi Tainaka They are both highly regarded in the jazz world..
Jazz reviewer, Ken Dryden, compares Champian favorably with Carmen McRae, but she is also often seen as an inheritor of the mantles of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.
The concrt will be presented in the cafe venue at the Eagle Hill Cultural Center. Wine, beer, and a selection of sweet temptations freshly prepared by their chef will be available..
