The Berkshire International Film Festival and the Beacon Cinema join together for the Berkshires’ first-ever Smartphone Film Festival – a new take on the film festival scene, as part of the 10x10 On North Festival taking place February 16-26 in downtown Pittsfield. Films were shot using the iPhone, iPad and various alternative cinematic "apps" to create a desired look or effect.

Experimental, Action, Drama and even a Music Video are some genres you will encounter. Among the local filmmakers participating are Kevin Sprague, Ben Hillman, Chris Donovan, David Sernick and the Flying Dago Brothers. Award winning shorts will also be featured in collaboration with the iPhone Film Festival (IFF). The complete program of cell phone shorts will be shown on Thursdays, February 16 and 23 at 7pm and again on Sundays, February 19 and 26 at 2pm.
