Remembered for Magda in Sex in the City

Lynn was a long time crush of mine. A very lovely and loving lady. I would often, after the curtain went down, go backstage with a box of candy. Had many lunches and suppers with Lynn and her husband writer Ron Cohen at various theater soirees over the years. Ron and I served on the board of the Outer Critics Circle years ago. I will be missing her glow and grace. I can't help feeling robbed. I know that we all have experienced this feeling. Just Saying!

From the wire.

Actress Lynn Cohen — best known for playing Ukranian housekeeper Magda on “Sex and the City” has died at the age of 86, as confirmed by THR. Cohen passed away Friday morning, according to her rep.

Born in 1933, Cohen — a Kansas City, Missouri native — studied acting at New York’s Michael Howard Studios, going on to leave her mark on Broadway in productions of Tennessee Williams’ “Orpheus Descending” and Anton Chekhov’s “Ivanov.” More recently, Cohen guest-starred on series such as “The Cobbler,” “Blue Bloods,” “The Affair,” “Master of None” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

She is most well known, however, for playing the plainspoken housekeeper of Miranda Hobbes on “SATC,” with show star and producer Sarah Jessica Parker remembering “Magda” on Instagram.

“Beautiful Lynn Cohen,” the actress began. “Miranda’s dear and necessary Magda. Our dear SATC colleague.?Talent, grace, inspiration. RIP X, SJ.”
