March
When Winter Won't Quit
By: Charles Giuliano - Mar 08, 2015
March
The brawny hands of winter
Choking the breath
Of spring
Persephone returns to frozen earth
Now into March
More frigging snow
Big soft flakes
Falling outside tall loft windows
Dim tones
These first hours of Daylight Saving
Clocks inching forward
Up and down the halls
Neighbors hacking and fevered
Sleep dosed with Nyquil
Tea with lemon and honey
Hydrate she tells me
Week in NY cancelled
Too sick to travel
Mean season
Prolonged beyond reason
Little cheer
Since seasons greetings
Mocking echo
Muffled strangled reverie
Setting records
For utter misery
Must break soon
Melting into epic floods
Curse God
And die
