This year Easter falls
On April 5
Sister Pip’s birthday
Sending flowers
Several years ago
Height of Covid
I was in rehab
Spinal Stenosis
Major surgery
Restricted visitors
Astrid peered through
My window
Look but don’t touch
For celebration
Special breakfast
Cheering us up
Paul and I shared
Pancakes with strawberries
Ham for lunch
Later she visited
Other side of plexi
Heart throbbing madly
So near yet far
A matter of inches
She brought tulips
Brightened my room
Brilliant color
Through the gloom
A bloom of one’s own
