It was a record breaking day with 92 degree heat in Central Park in early April. Touring Chelsea galleries proved to be exhausting. We opted to return home.

The bus can take forever as we waited on the corner of 23rd and 10th Avenue.

A man walked by with two small dogs. I got my camera out to catch a shot.

Then decided to keep shooting. A conceptual piece with some fixed limitations.

To capture only what passes in front from a somewhat fixed position. Because it takes a n interval for the camera to recharge between shots it was a matter of timing. It was not possible to record every passerby. But there was another rule not to be selective. To take every shot when possible.

By implication this was a study in the mundane. Although every New Yorker tends to think that they are unique and special. This was an experiment to verify that perception.

In this series of images what distinguishes interesting from ordinary? Would there prove to be a decisive moment or two? Or just the humdrum and every day.
