Rain Rain Come Again

Maybe Flowers

So here we are mates
Friggin’ mid April
Easter long gone
Looking out today
Grim loft windows
Snow instead of showers
Frost not on pumpkins
Rather crocus and daffodils
Orchards shivering
Global warming me ass
Fossil fuels you ask
Spring it seems
Has sprung a leak|
Yumpin yee crimminey
Smoke up chimney
Logs on hearths
Them’s what gottem
Me no luckin
Shovel still in car
Window scraper
Not packed away
Ready to use
Cripes another day
Blimey sod off lads
Gimme ‘nother pint
Here’s to summer
What may never come
Me feeling so glum
Drifts knee high
On Fourth of July
Nough to make a lad
Ravin’ blimminey
Deaf and dumb
Numb to nature
Worse is yet to come
