Jazz Appreciation Month
Music in the Berkshires
By: Jazz - Apr 18, 2026
Happy Jazz Appreciation Month! We are less than two weeks away from our 20th Annual Pittsfield CityJazz Festival. On Friday, April 17, we kick off our festival with a free Jazz Jam at Hot Plate Brewing. A new beer will be rolled out in honor of our two decades of our festival.
On Wednesday, April 22, 14-year old Xander Rosenblum headlines our Prodigy Concert at the Berkshire Athenaeum. Xander will be playing with a local all-star group headed by pianist George Oldziey.
From 6-10 pm on Friday, April 24, we’ll be offering a Jazz Crawl at five different venues in downtown Pittsfield.
Although our April 18 concert with Georgia Heers—who will be singing the music of Billie Holiday—is sold out, we still have a few tickets remaining for our Saturday, April 25 Capstone Concert, featuring Veronica Swift, Grace Kelly, and the Uconn Jazz Ensemble. Visit our website to learn more and to purchase tickets.
In my first Pittsfield City Jazz Festival as President, I am humbled and honored to represent a Board passionate and dedicated to keeping quality jazz playing bright in the Berkshires.
I share your excitement for the festival, and look forward to joining you in experiencing some of the finest jazz artists playing today.

President, Berkshires Jazz
