North Adams, Mass. On Friday, May 6, at 8 PM five  authors from the Eclipse Mill artists/ residence complex in North Adams will present a reading and book launch. The event features recent work by Charles Giuliano, Astrid Hiemer, Vin Jensen (Ien Nivens) and Sarah Sutro.

The free reception and reading will occur in the gallery of the mill at 243 Union Street in North Adams, Mass. 01247.

The evening will range from readings of poetry and novels to an interval of music. It will be followed by a reception and book signing,

Starting as a whim in August, 2015 initially Charles Giuliano intended to write a cycle of poems celebrating each month for a year. That quickly morphed into a larger project with some 400 poems posted to date on Berkshire Fine Arts. He will read from Shards of a Life and Total Gonzo Poems. A third book, Ultra Cosmic Gonzology is now in the editing and design phase.

In addition to writing on line Astrid Hiemer has been creating unique, one of a kind, artist's books. Examples of this work were included in an International Artists' Book Biennale in Bucharest, Romania. More than 80 artists participated from 22 countries. Her work was acquired for a museum in Romania. Hiemer has also created collaged travel journals both as unique books and projects for Berkshire Fine Arts.

Vin Jensen has written under the nom de plume Ien Nivens. He has published Tangible Angels. It treads an imaginary line between Magical Realism and American Gothic Horror. Insisting that it is an interpretation and not a translation he has published The American Book of Changes. It renders more accessible the ancient Chinese book of oracles. He will read from a novel in progress.

A book of verse Etudes by Sarah Sutro was recently published by Finishing Line Press in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was a finalist for the Robert Frost Poetry Award, MA Artist Foundation Poetry Grant and a visiting writer/ artist at the American Academy in Rome. She is the author of Colors: Passages through Art, Asia and Nature (Blue Asia Press).
