Never good at that
Always sounding off
Pontificating
Opinions on every subject
What critics do
For a living
Sucking it all in
Spewed back
Mostly self absorbed
Not much reflection
Missing the irony
Of most moments
Called on it years later
Reputation cast in stone
Not really true
Nuanced by age
Worn down eroded
Boulders on the beach
Time softening
Hard body of youth
With brain to match
Bright as the sun
Thick as a brick
Evolving and eroding
All at once
Fighting against
Apathy and atrophy
An amusement for others
Revenge for insults
Real or imagined
Watching the old fart
Fall apart but not
Without a good fight
