Shots and beers
After the shift
Spilling his guts
Me and me mates
Screeds of hate
Twists of fate
I hear you
He said with
Mock sincerity
As if anyone really
Gives a damn
Blathering pathos
Drowning in sorrow
Truth sinking to
Bottom of  glass
Order another round
Have one on me
Getting really plastered
Making less sense
Ringing in the ears
Chronic tinnitus
That siren song
Luring Ulysses to the rocks
Such sweet thunder
Crashing in his head
Deaf crew rowed on
Past danger then
Hero unbound
Deeply distraught
Bloody blokes
They never listen
Morosely slobbered
Well in his cups
More sappy than sapiens
Staggering home with
A world of troubles
To sleep them off
