Provincetown Arts Magazine
40th Anniversary Issue
By: PAM - Jun 23, 2025
We're thrilled to share the news that the 2025–26 issue of Provincetown Arts is now available for preorder at provincetownarts.org. This 40th Anniversary Issue features exclusive interviews with poet Major Jackson, by poet and author Nick Flynn, and painter Joe Diggs, interviewed by writer and artist Andre van der Wende. Our 40th edition of Provincetown Arts — one of the longest-running arts publications in the Northeast — includes a special section on the history of Provincetown Arts Press and Provincetown's arts organizations; reviews of new books by Cape authors, including Paul Lisicky's book on Joni Mitchell and Truro poet Elizabeth Bradfield's sixth collection, Sofar; plus stories on the work of artists Iren Handschuh, Diana Horowitz, Carmen Cicero, and Pat de Groot, among many others. Also among the dozens of great reads you'll find in the 2025-'26 issue are: Jay Critchley's interview with Provincetown documentary filmmaker Ernie Martin, a story by E.J. Kahn III on the work and career of screenwriter Mark Protosevich, a story on Mike Syers' award-winning film about Urvashi Vaid, and an article by Sue Harrison on poet Marie Howe's recent Pulitzer Prize, as well as a section on notable artists and writers of the past four decades, including a piece by New Yorker staff writer Alec Wilkinson on author Sebastian Junger. Preorder a copy of the new issue NOW for a reduced price, and we'll ship it to you when the new magazine arrives. Or choose "local pickup" in Provincetown (at no additional cost). If you're able, please join us at our special 40th Anniversary Gala and publication party, which will be held at The Schoolhouse Gallery (494 Commercial Street) on Thursday, August 7, from 5-8 pm. Food and drink will be served, and magazines and books will be available for purchase. Register HERE for the 40th Anniversary Gala! With all best wishes, Ingrid, Irene, Elizabeth, and the Board of Provincetown Arts Press
