Hot or Cold
Playing It Cool
By: Charles Giuliano - Jul 01, 2016
Hot or Cold
Oh so rare
That perfect
Summer day
Blue sky
Fluffy white clouds
Gentle sun
No need for screen
Tending to gardens
Blooming beds
Herbs coming along
Not like
Dead of winter
Chilled to the bone
Swathed in sweaters
Hunkered down
Busy with chores
Apples in barrels
Roots in the cellar
As it was in
Olden days
Gathered by the hearth
Chestnuts roasting
Rum in the grog
Then in the heat
Sweaty and sweltering
No AC
Lemonade and iced tea
Nowadays
Playing it cool
Cranked to the max
Urban brown outs
Draining the grid
So we pass our days
Flicking thermostats
Often too hot
Or cold
Life lived
Weather or not
While icebergs
Melt in the arctic
Fish rot in the sea
Global warming
Caused by
You and me
