Time After Time
A Perfect Stranger
By: Charles Giuliano - Jul 16, 2016
Time After Time
What time is it
You asked
In the waiting room
A perfect stranger
In reality
Nobody is perfect
Or strange
How timely
My watch stopped
Self winding
Omega
Has mind of its own
Takes naps
Has to be
Jolted awake
Mornings when
My arms hardly move
While sleeping
Perchance to dream
Why are you here
I asked the stranger
Becoming more familiar
Hardly a friend
Keeping a distance
Here for tests
Oh, I see
Same with me
Drawing blood
In buckets
Then I have to go
Where and when
Over there
Then somewhere else
That makes sense
Perhaps
Or maybe not
But hey
None of my business
You know
Here today
Gone tomorrow
Have a nice day
Don’t be a stranger
I hear you
But really
Do I
Does anyone actually
Give a damn
