Naumkeag, a property of The Trustees if Reservations, located in the Berkshires, may be the most popular landmark property in western Massachusetts.
From 10am to 4pm, today, Naumkeag will host a 'Free Fun Friday' event and will open its doors, free of charge to all visitors, either young or old.
Attendees can participate in 'self guided tours' of the mansion, tour the magnificent grounds and view the newly renovated greenhouse. Children's activities at the 'Secret garden at Naumkeag' include crafts and games, readings from children's books whose stories are set in the secret garden.
Other activities in the 'Secret Garden' include an obstacle course with the theme of 'Peter Rabbit's Escape From Mr. McGregor', and a larger then life 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' that is in need of decorating.
Kids can make a hat at 'Alice In Wonderland's Mad Hatter's Tea Party' or find the 'Red Robin' in the 'Secret Garden.'
All of the activities are free, thanks to the Trustees of Reservations, Naumkeag and Massachusetts summer weekly 'Free Fun Friday' events statewide.
