To the Brave Artist Richard Harrington,

Author of Harrington’s Geometries, Finite Infinities

In the long run, the mind rests

And the eye on nothing.

They cease.

Pleasantest is, active yet,

They are comprehending. The life of the mind,

That of the quick eye, are indomitable

Requiring life.

Life and light, my friend Gloria

Shapiro says, bless.

Well, Richard, you say them all.

The mind rests in the long room, upon

Prickly spheres, you insist on meaning.

There is the universe void perhaps.

There are light-pricked metallic angles.

There is reference to sage Newton

Who unfortunately believed in God.

We forgive them all, those who

Speak to us of their views,

When they are interesting, catch us,

And we stand in wonder

In the dim light, alert as cats,

As quick to offend.

We appreciate your spheres.

Dub them Harringtons, for today.
