Her 1984 exhibition at the Rose Art Museum

Failed to impress

Something about pixilated panels

Garden swimming pool and other things

Memory fades

Other than not being impressed

Said so in a sharp review

Later in an elevator

With then MIT/ List director Kathy Halbreich

Now of MoMA

Tense silence in that compressed space

Going up or down which I can’t recall

Feeling the smoldering heat

Not knowing why

An outburst

Stunned

You will live to regret that

She said with diva authority

Decades later

I haven’t

"Surprisingly good Charles. Your tomatoes did not do so well this season because of the weather, but your poems did. We hope you will keep on writing."
