Premiere of Works by Stephen Dankner
Clark Features Berkshire Composer October 12
By: Stephen Dankner - Sep 01, 2014
My upcoming performance, "A CONCERT OF THREE STRING QUARTET PREMIERES", which was generously funded in part by many of you last summer via a kickstarter crowdsourcing campaign, will finally become a reality on Sunday, October 12, 3:00 p.m. when the fabulous Dover String Quartet - resident quartet at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and First Prize winners in the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition - will give the premiere performances of my Quartets Nos. 14, 16 and 17. Please mark your calendars.
The venue is the spectacularly re-designed Clark Art Institute, located at 225 South Street, in Williamstown Massachusetts.
These three new works, all composed in 2012-'13, represent a cross section of my musical style, with elements of romantic melody, jazz and popular styles and modernism. I hope you'll find the musical mix to be intriguing, captivating, and I dare say... beautiful.
The concert is free and should last about 90 minutes.
I hope you can make it; it will be very meaningful for me to see you there.
Please read the attached press release for the details.
Thank you for your support of my music, and I extend all my best wishes to you for a great fall foliage season and beyond!
