Now more than ever

Staggering into our 80’s
Marking another decade
Truth is that
It’s been a blast
Thoughts of the past
Days of wine and roses
Regrets there are so few
Out out brief candle
Mooch magique
Burning checks
Fifty years and no sense
Dancing in the flames
Christmas at Benno’s
The gang was all there
So young and foolish
We were immortal
As it should be
Forever young
Songs never sung
In heart and mind
Grandfather clocks unwind
Yet how we yearn

Days ever more precious
