If life is a journey
From which no traveler returns
Just one way they say
No round trip tickets
Today is a milestone
Looking out the window
On a fast train
Zipping at breathless speed
So much yet to do
Work is never done
A life in the arts
Gazing at the Alps
Caught up in dreams
Or so it would seem
Such sweet reverie

Just last week at MFA
Met with curators
They were so excited
To get my orange sequined
Nudie’s of Hollywood
Suit of lights
Reeking of rock adventures
So well worn
Riders of the storm
Hanging with Elton in LA
Back in the day
When we were all so
Young and absolutely fabulous
Today I turn 79
Special breakfast with Astrid
Guiding us through so many
Landmarks, monuments and adventures
Fellow traveler a road warrior
Taking it slow
Easy there big fellah
High and low so it goes
