Big Boy at 80
Night for a Moondance

Big Boy at 80
Decades ago in Sheffield
The Benno gang
Must have been a holiday
Festive gatherings
Somewhat normal friends
Stature wise at least
Given inordinate scale
Hipster at large
Dubbed me Big Boy
A term of affection
From Beans, Shango, The G
Little Hoey or the Ho
He led a short life
Phil or Feeel
As Corinna called him
He of the simian line
Across his palm
On the lam in Thailand
Up to lord knows what
For short often just
The Big or simply Big
Call me anything but
Not late for supper
Diamonds in the rough
Rock and roll of ages
Nowadays striving to
Be less big it seems
Daily exercise
Quigong moves
Michael teaches me
Trying to stay healthy
This the first morning
Of eighty years
Can you believe it
What the heck happened
Where did it go
Strolling to and fro
Speaking of Michelangelo
Measured in teaspoons
Astrid on my side
Doling love in our cup
Measure for measure
Tea and sympathy
Saved from hell on earth
Pulled from the brink
Nose dive to Armageddon
Works and days
Getting things done
Here in the Berkshires
Land of milk and honey
Most of the time
Between now and Halloween
When the hawk flies
Bird of prey in the wilderness
Come low winter sun
When night falls at four
Into our snug slumber
With miles before we sleep
Perhaps to dream
Last night with Van Morrison
So young in Cambridge
Marvelous night for a moondance
There on the horizon
During the plague
End of Seventh Seal
Knight moved the bishop
Pawn before dawn
