When cod was God
Schooners sailed
To grand banks
It was quiet today
Not the deafening din
Just local folks
Eyed twin lobsters
But not for lunch
There was a
Whole fish
Floating in my soup
An order of steamers
Broth and butter
To rinse and dip
On the whiteboard
Daily specials
Figs stuffed
With prosciutto
And gorgonzola
Holy Godzilla
Saints preserve us
Waddled away
Back another day
