MoCA MoCA
There's more to be thankful for this year as MASS MoCA offers extended Thanksgiving holiday hours and an increased tour schedule and a special MASS MoCA Marketplace - an event for one-stop holiday shopping where dozens of contemporary crafters will showcase their wares in the MASS MoCA lobby the weekend of November 21 and 22.

According to Jodi Josesh, MASS MoCA's retail director, "This holiday marketplace is a great way for us to support local artists and crafters.  We've worked closely with the Berkshire Made group and have reached out to a wide array of vendors to ensure that we have a great mix of product and prices to shop." The collection of contemporary crafts will include 25 booths offering everything from high end jewelry to fun, affordable stocking stuffers. Joseph continued, "It's a great way to complement our selection at Hardware: The MASS MoCA Store. We hope that our holiday marketplace is another great reason to shop locally - and culturally - this holiday season." Over the weekend Hardware: The MASS MoCA Store will also offer special markdowns on selected items.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, MASS MoCA will offer extended hours and an increased tour schedule.  The galleries will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open from 10 AM - 5 PM on Friday, November 27, Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29.  Free (with admission) gallery tours will be offered on Friday and Saturday at 11 AM, 1, 2, and 4 PM and at noon and 3 PM on Sunday. The 1 PM tour on Friday and Saturday will focus on the LeWitt installation and the 2 PM tour on those days will be a special family tour geared slightly more toward children though adults are welcome.  Kidspace will be open all three days from 11 AM - 4 PM for viewing and art-making activities.

Looking forward, MASS MoCA's galleries will also be open every day from Saturday, December 26 through Sunday, January 3 (including New Year's Day, January 1, 2010) with extended hours -- 10 - 5 PM every day.  Tours during that period will be available three times a day at 11 AM, 1 and 3 PM. The daily 1 PM tour will focus on the LeWitt Retrospective.
