The New England Experimental Art Group
Mission Statement
The New England Experimental Art Group (aka - EG) embodies the belief that all art inherently involves experimentation. This perspective champions the evolution and self-expression of artists across all genres. It emphasizes the importance of overcoming fear of judgment and the constraints of existing artistic standards to avoid stagnation. In a culture of courage and permission, the group’s artists are encouraged to explore, experiment, and amplify their unique voices. In this way their art remains an evolving form of expression.
History
The New England Experimental Art Group was founded between 2014 and 2015 by Nella Lush during her tenure as a board member at the Rockport Art Association and Museum.
The group has emerged as a unique initiative to bridge the worlds of traditional and experimental abstract art. Over its ten-year journey, the group experienced significant growth and garnered considerable recognition in the art community. As of 2024, the Group has embarked on a fresh chapter, having transitioned away from the Rockport Art Association, and opening up exciting new prospects and avenues for the group's future endeavors.
