Pope Francis

Rubbing Noses

By: - Dec 19, 2015

Pope Francis

Last night
I hung out with
Pope Francis
The love
Surged through me
His warm smile
Easy beatific charm
It was electric
Come back to the Church
My son
Not hardly
Why my son
The nuns
They were mean
He nodded knowingly
A familiar refrain
In his presence
Something different
So close
Mano a mano
Face to face
We touched noses
Laughing
What are you doing
For Christmas
After mass in St. Peters
Tokyo
Or perhaps Brazil
It's a secret
Don't tell
Or you'll go
To Hell
How long can
You keep this up
Global travel
Getting older
Pope for life
Will you retire
Like that other guy
Then two Popes
Perhaps three
Or four
Like in the
Middle Ages
Avignon and Orvieto
Turning to his aide
Smiling nun
In plain clothes
Somber moment
Reflecting
We're thinking
About that
But not now
Or even soon
You must be busy
Thank you for
This visit
For you my son
Any time
Parting he
Kissed me
On the mouth
That seemed so
Strange
