Delivering all those
Last minute gifts
Extra pounds from
Festive parties
Cookies and fruit cake
Hearty egg nog
With a blast of rum
Celebrations with
Friends and family
Renewing traditions
Making new ones
Leftovers tonight
Then turkey soup
Peace on earth
Universal truce
Slipping away
Inevitable return
Hate and killing
Good will
Packed away till
Next year
America Trumped
By fear
Yet again
Dark cloud
Prince of Darkness
Casts its shadow
Over the long
Dead of winter
Sorry kids
Enjoy the toys
But Christmas
