What she learned from plants at Gloucester Writers Center

By Peter Littlefield Directed by Roy Rallo

Lately I've been writing little metaphysical screenplays for dolls, dogs and humans. My friend Roy Rallo - with whom I work in opera - has been shooting them with my help.  (I supply the dolls.) And now Henry Ferrini has been kind enough to screen them at the Gloucester Writers Center, Friday, June 16 at 7:30.

They're short. I like to think they're entertaining and enlightening (if a little befuddling...) So I hope you'll come.

What she learned from plants, a trilogy of short films.

The story of Olive, a girl who meets the Plant People. As a young woman, she follows her dog through a pandemic. and then, old and homeless, she stumbles into the fairy world.

Peter Littlefield and Roy Rallo became friends making opera, out of a shared inclination to do things other than opera. Peter ‘dramaturged’ Roy's productions of Don PasqualeAriadne auf NaxosCosi fan Tutte and others. Original work together includes, Methusalem ProjektSalome and This is the Day of the Dead, Sit or Lie Down. Their restaging of Strauss' Die Frau Ohne Schatten - designed by David Hockney - is currently running at the San Francisco Opera.
