A Livestream Event from South Florida

If you enjoy classical theater, hop online on Saturday for “Festival of Classics.” It will feature South Florida-based professional actors, college students, and recent graduates.
“Festival of Classics” is a livestream event at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 5. Performers will enact scenes from Shakespeare and modern classics. Their goal is to provide a bridge from academia to professional life in theater. In addition, the event seeks to cultivate an appreciation for the classics among new audiences.
People will be able to watch the roughly 90-minute show from the participating companies’ Facebook and YouTube channels. Participants are folks from Shakespeare Troupe Inc., Grace Arts Center, the Joseph Papp Yiddish Theatre, What If Works, as well as Florida International University, Miami-Dade Community College, and the University of Miami.
Actors will perform selections from Twelfth Night, The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet, The Taming of the Shrew, The Diary of Anne Frank, and more.
