Six time Tony Winner, Audra Mcdonald takes center stage at Ozawa Hall on Sunday evening (8:00pm) at Tanglewood, located in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Born in Berlin in 1970, Ms. Mcdonald turned to acting and singing as a way to counter her 'hyperactivity' as a youngster.
The rest is history.
Audra has worked in film, opera, television and stage. She is known for her recent role of Billie Holiday in Lanie Robertson's hit play, 'Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill'.
Sunday's concert will feature tunes from her new album, 'Go Back Home', as well as numerous show tunes. Audra is one of America's most admired singers and a true treasure to see on stage.
Fortunately, Ms. Mcdonald, is a fan of Tanglewood and appears regularly as a guest artist. She has won more Tony's (six) than any other actor. Her appearances generally sell-out Ozawa Hall.
Lawn tickets are usually available, especially on the weekend of the concert, if Ozawa Hall is sold out.
