Gardner Museum
Expands Weekend Hours
By: Gardner - Nov 17, 2020
Since the Gardner Museum reopened to visitors in July, we’ve been striving to remain flexible in order to meet our community’s needs during these challenging times. To this end, we’re adjusting our public hours. In order to maximize opportunities to visit the Gardner on weekends—the most in-demand days at the Museum—we’re increasing morning hours on Saturday and Sunday!
We’re focusing our resources on providing the best and safest possible experience and making the Museum more accessible by investing in new ways to meaningfully engage with you. Our online and mobile-friendly maps and room guides, collection information, and exhibition resources greatly enhance your experience at the Museum. Our collections blog explores our collection and history in ways that connect with our lives today, bringing the magic of the Gardner to your home. In addition, we’re thrilled to offer free digital programs, including our Luminary Lens, Amplifier Projects, and In the Studio series, to share our creative partnerships with local artistic collaborators in new and meaningful ways.
Our hours as of December 1 will be:
Monday | 11am–5pm
Tuesday | Closed
Wednesday | 11am–5pm
Thursday | 11am–5pm, and until 9pm on the first Thursday of the month
Friday | 11am–5pm
Saturday | 10am–5pm
Sunday | 10am–5pm
The Gardner Museum’s recently expanded free hours are central to our mission of increasing access for everyone, including our First Free Thursdays, which offers free admission from 3 - 9 pm on the first Thursday of each month.
We’ll continue to listen to the needs of our visitors to determine if other adjustments may be beneficial as we navigate the evolving landscape of this pandemic. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at the Gardner soon, and don’t forget to reserve your ticket in advance online!
