Spectrum Playhouse
The former St. George’s Church in Lee, MA is now the Spectrum Playhouse & Community Center, a multi-purpose performance space hosting year-long professional performing artists, theater productions, concerts, lectures, and community events. The Playhouse is part of CIP’s Berkshire Visual & Performance Arts Program which provides young adults with Learning Differences including Autism Spectrum disorders with an outlet for creative interests, expression through practical skill building and hands-on experience. Students can participate in small group classes and internships and have the opportunity to perform in a local venue, helping prepare them for a range of opportunities in the creative arts field.

An Evening of Jazz and Poetry at Spectrum Playhouse
By: - Mar 12th, 2015There were 26 poets submitting 32 Elevator Poems in a contest sponsored by Berkshire Fine Arts. In an Evening of Jazz and Poetry there will be an awards ceremony at Spectrum Playhouse in Lee, Mass on April 10 from 7;30 to 10:30 PM. Music will be performed by the Richard Vinette Jazz Quintet. The Elevator poets who attend will be invited to read their compositions. The winners are Gail Burns, Astrid Hiemer and Stephen Rifkin. The contest was judged by Professor Mark Miller of MCLA.

A number of his best known works- Freud's Last Sessions, Best of Enemies, Dr. Ruth- have premiered for the company of artistic director, Julianne Boyd. This week the latest Dancing Lessons will open. In what has become an annual ritual we met at Dottie's in Pittsfield for breakfast to discuss this new work as well as the challenges of a life in theatre.
